This week, we’ve got a 13-fight card in Boise, Idaho. It is headlined by Junior Dos Santos vs Blagoy Ivanov, that is making his UFC debut. DraftKings has smaller competitions for this card because it’s only a Fight Night card with lesser known title, but there is still well over $100k to be won. I’ll be pursuing my fair share of the money and I trust you guys will be too. Listed below are a couple plays I like this weekend and my fade of the week.
Money Game play of this week — Alexander Volkanovski ($9,200)
I think Volkanovski is the”safest” play on this particular card along with also his -300 betting line would concur with me. That’s where I’ll be starting my lineup this week and I will figure the rest out from there. Volkanovski averages 116.5 DK points through his first four UFC fights so he’s got a ton of upside as well. He could possible score over two other winners with this card combined. I really do think he is in play for GPPs as well for that reason, but he will probably be the heaviest owned fighter on the card and we do not care about possession as much in cash games. I’d suggest paying up for the expensive price tag on your money games and then search for at least 3 others wins you’re confident in.
GPP play of this week — Junior Dos Santos ($8,700)
JDS ought to function as way better striker inside this struggle and I think that is where the fight will take place. He could get KO’d in the opening seconds of the fight and score 0 points, but this is what makes him a GPP drama in lieu of a cash match play. With these two Heavyweights, we need to likely see a KO within the 25-minues and I think the former winner, JDS, are the one to receive it. He has great takedown defense so he should be able to maintain this battle on the toes where he will have a 4-inch achieve advantage to work with.
Underdog drama of the week — Niko Price ($7,900)
Niko is going to be my underdog drama of this week. The chances indicate that the fight should be rather close and there’s a good chance that he utilizes his wrestling to gain the benefit. In 5 fights that he hasn’t seen a decision yet, and there’s a possibility it stays that way if he receives Brown into the ground. Niko has some slick submissions in his arsenal and a lot of heart. On the feet, Brown likely has the advantage with his reach, but Cost does have some sneaky power too, which can’t be overlooked. Overall, I like this as a GPP play.
Fade of this week — Alejandro Perez ($9,100)
Perez is the 2nd most expensive fighter on this card and he is just $100 less expensive than Volkanovski. In my view, Perez will need a end to really have a shot at paying off that expensive salary and I do not want to invest in that, personally. He has never landed greater than 1 takedown in a fight and Wineland has excellent takedown defense, so we should see this fight occur on the toes. I believe Perez needs to be the one to get his hands raised in the end but I think it will be via decision. If that’s true then he can score ~60 points in a win, and also at $9.1k that is not likely to win anybody a tournament. I will be complete fading Perez this week and hoping he doesn’t get the end and he’s my official fade of the week.
